Modeling and Simulations Engineer

NanoAvionics team is looking for a talented physicist to carry out various space-related calculations. If you’re having finite element calculations for breakfast, seeing Navier-Stokes equations when stirring the sugar in your cup of tea, and remembering Kepler laws while watching a moving dot of light in the night sky – WE NEED YOU! We are looking for an attentive colleague who would be able to reliably, quickly and without supervision carry out calculations arising in everyday design of CubeSats. We will provide the FEA and/or mathematical modeling software.

Job description:

Carry out thermal and/or mechanical stress analyses by using FEA package of SolidWorks. Perform quick approximate hand calculations to check feasibilities of various physical design concepts. Make design spreadsheets for estimating performance and evaluating trade-offs between various design parameters. Make mathematical models of dynamic physical systems.

We expect you to have:

  • A degree in engineering or physics
  • A good grasp of at least three of these fields:
    • Thermodynamics
    • Electromagnetism
    • Stress analysis
    • Orbital mechanics
    • Dynamic system modeling
    • Data processing
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
  • The following personal traits:
