Enabling Propulsion System for Small Satellites (EPSS)

>

NanoAvionics has been awarded a grant by the European Commission under the framework of Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 2, in order to develop and commercialize an innovative product: an enabling chemical propulsion system (EPSS). The project is devoted to accomplishing technological and business case development goals, including bringing the system to the market through a piloting process and the implementation of production infrastructure. By the end of the project, the satellite propulsion system will reach the final 9th technology readiness level (TRL).

The project activities:

  • Manufacture of the advanced EPSS prototype, performance of the qualification test campaign and subsequent validation by the pilot user
  • Design and implementation of the pilot production infrastructure including setup of the manufacturing process, manufacturing personnel, and quality assurance procedures
  • Preparation for relevant ISO 9001 quality management certification
  • Validation of production infrastructure through manufacturing and delivery of the first small batch of EPSS’s
